Paradise Park

When Mama/Grandma Wendy was here she took the boys to Paradise Park, a local place with lots of fun things to do with the kiddos. The Edutainment center is one of our favorites. There is water play, an art center, a bank, grocery store, pretend pizza restaurant, face painting, cooking, a ball pit, slides...WHEW the list goes on. The kids had a great time!

While Ash was painting his face he declared "No wun is going to wecognize me!" Too bad I didn't get an after shot, it was very camoflauge-esque. Can you tell I like to make up my own words?

Ridge making his very own cookie. He loved all the low to the ground sinks & stools.

Ash-man in action

This picture just reminded me, that Jay had woken up crying, & saying his ear hurt.
He & I jumped in the car (thanks to Wendy who stayed with the other two) and rushed to the Urgent Care Clinic (which just means you don't have an appointment and the regular office isn't open yet) and were told he had an ear infection. He & I then stopped and got hot chocolate at Quik Trip on the way home. (An effort on my part to baby him a little bit.)
No Kindergarten that day but hey, let's go to Paradise Park! :) A little Ibuprofen and a pirate sticker also helped make it a great day.

Happy Birthday Mama Jo Raye/Jo Mama

Word to my mother:
Today is the day we celebrate the birth of my sweet mom. Jo Raye Hand Jenkins. She is a woman of virtue, many talents, great beauty and goodness.
Perhaps you've heard the saying: "straight as an arrow, but not a square"...that's my mom! When you're with her there is always an adventure to be had. (See our Christmas 2006 post for an example.) Lucky me that she and my dad are flying to K.C. for Thanksgiving! Hooray!

We love you Mama Jo Raye/Jo Mama. We're so thankful to have you in our lives.

Grandma & Grandpa Jeppson a.k.a. Mom & Dad

Proof that my sweet in-laws are not imaginary friends...

Dad Jeppson reading to Asher

Everyone was snuggling together so Matt hurried and took this picture. You can see where Matt gets his good looks from, his parents are both so attractive. Hubba, hubba!

They also brought a project for the boys to do while Ridge-man was sleeping. The boys both loved making their own Indian necklaces & bracelets.

The finished products.
Ash was done very quickly.

Jay took his time and even started over so he could get it to look "just right." I'd say that is pretty indicative of their personalities.

Thanks for the great visit. We love you both!

Matteo turns 33!

The night Matt was born back before the days of the Ultra sound, the doctor announced "Looks like you've got yourself a Halloweenie!" And thus 33 years later the saying/joke still doesn't get old. As a kid Matt loved having his birthday on Halloween, candy and parties and presents what kid wouldn't love that?
We were lucky this year to celebrate Matt's birthday with Mom & Dad Jeppson who flew in to visit. We had a great time being together. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of them on Matt's special day. (Sorry guys, I'm a slacker.) Just pretend you can see their cute faces in these shots.

The "bag" books are a charming set of books that were Matt's as a kid. Mom & Dad brought them and our boys LOVE hearing all about the lunch bag, travel bag, medical bag etc.

Here is Asher trying to get in on some of the birthday boy's stash.

This is the pumpkin that Jay carved. All by himself! This is the front face.

And this is the back face. Notice the darling eyes and mouth. Jay was quite pleased with himself. So cute!

Feeder Blog

Hopefully I've done this right and gone to a private blog now. I've created a public blog for you to put on your feeds (if you want) that I'll update when I've posted on this "real" blog.
The address is, and you can laugh if you want...

Stroll down Halloween Lane

I'm trying to do some organizing so I put some pictures together of past Halloween's. Matt's birthday is also on Halloween so maybe I should do the same with pictures from that. It's fun to see how the kids change as they grow.

A pea pod
Notice at a young age (7 months) Matt is trying to indoctrinate our first born with a love of reptiles.

2004
We went as Steve & Terri Irwin. Jay was a giraffe from our zoo.
Matt took a live snake to the church in a snake bag. Our trunk for the trunk or treat was quite popular that year.
Notice the snake.

Halloween 2006
Cowboy & Roo (kangaroo)

Preschool Party. I still can't believe Jay is in kindergarten now. I SO love those dimples!

Party at the church

Our friends the Whitney's & Kusgen's dressed up as Matt. They had shirts made with Matt's picture that said: "It's all right, I'm a herpetologist!" Long story...

2007
Pirate & Dragon

This year 2008
Clone trooper, monkey & a 3-eyed green monster

We don't know how Ridge hurt his face. It looks much better now.
The boys had a great time trick or treating with Grandpa & Grandma Jeppson who were in town visiting. The weather was beautiful and warm. By the end Asher who had started out running house to house collapsed on some grass and proclaimed "my bag is too heavy!"

Matt & I didn't dress up this year, but we did throw together a murder/mystery dinner with the Whitney's. (The 4 of us share October birthdays.) It's too bad you can't really do large groups with these because so many people would be fun. Oh well, we will have to do more of them, even if it's not in October!

If you need a good laugh

I was laughing so loud at this ward talent show synchronized swimming clip it scared Ridge. The lift at the end is my favorite. I'm wondering if I can get Matt and the rest of the bishopric to do something similar. I'm already choreographing it in my head.

Going Private

It's past time to take the plunge & my sister is threatening to make the switch for me. (Thanks Sari!) She recently read a blogs gone wrong article...
Anyhow, please leave me a comment with your email address or email me if you want an invite to our "new and improved" but really just the same only private blog.

It will probably be about a week before I switch it over. I will most likely create a pseudo public blog to announce new posts that you can put on your blog lines or google reader programs. My email is:
jameyjeppson at gmail dot com
Thanks!
