Flashback to Christmas 2006

Where I'm from, when you go home for a visit you never know what will shake down. That's one of the things I love about visiting my hometown of Carlsbad, NM. Here is my family on Christmas Day 2006. We look like your typical "respectable" family...

A rare shot of all my siblings together. Sariah, Brenna, me and Seth. I am 4 months pregnant with Ridge.

But then on one of the occasions when our unsuspecting hubbies and father go out quail hunting, my mom has one of her famous great ideas. "Jamey I've been saving all your old High School pointe costumes, why don't you girls go try them on?"
Well...OK, maybe we will just try them on...and take a couple pictures...

Well, maybe we need to turn on music and leap around a little. We get Seth and the kids involved too.

Quick break for a diaper change, but that doesn't slow us down. Note how Sariah stays "in the zone." We of course were je'te-ing all around her to show our support.

Hark! Is that the door we hear? Are the mighty hunters home?
Why don't they seem surprised to see us leaping and pirouetting around in tutus? Well probably b/c this is Carlsbad, and anything can happen when the girls get together. (Plus, they know and love us, so it takes a lot to ruffle their feathers.)

Father "Quail-Slayer" Jenkins is 1/2 the center of this family of fun. Not pictured is mom the other 1/2 of our center, the instigator who took tons and tons of pictures. Her ideas are always lots of fun no matter how we might groan or complain. Love those family memories! This is one of my favorites.

Stranded at Christmas

Long story short. We were stranded at the Denver airport on our way to SLC for Christmas. Asher, Ridge (since he was a lap child) and I were able to get on stand-by the last flight that night. Matt & Jay had to spend the night in the airport and catch the next flight in the morning. I did not want to split us up and felt bad leaving Matt & Jay. I can still hear Jay's words as I was boarding the plane,
"Mommy don't leave me, I want to go to Grandma and Grandpa's! Don't leave me!"
I cried on the plane til take off.

We were not prepared for this situation but, luckily Matt is a super creative dad and made it into an adventure. Here are a couple shots of Jay's makeshift sleeping arrangements. Notice the tiny pillow case being used as a sleeping bag. Jay just walked in and saw these pictures and smiled and said "oh yeah, that's when I got to sleep at the airport!"

Comments FYI

To my family,
I just fixed my "comments settings" so you can post even if you don't have a google account. This should make it more user friendly for you. That is all.

I'm an aunt...again! ;)

Hooray for the Jenkins/Jeppson family. We've had 2 babies come to our family in 2008.
Scott and Kim Jeppson (who are such a fun couple) had baby Caden Jeppson in January and my cute sister Brenna and her great hubby Sean had Daisy Conroy (Jenkins) on Easter Sunday. We are so blessed that our family keeps growing.

Here is Carter and Annie Jeppson holding their new brother Caden. We can't wait to meet him this summer!

Daisy Patricia Conroy: born Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008.
Stats: 8lbs. 8oz., 21 inches long.
Hobbies include: daytime naps, nighttime parties
Favorite past time: milk drinking

I love Lily's face in the family shot!

Here is my cute mama~cita Jo Raye with Daisy and Brenna. I wish I could be there too!
Big sister Lily who they bribed with Jelly beans to take these pictures. Love that girl!

Other good news:
Our cousin Tommy Hand just received his mission call to Peru! Way to go Tommy!

I also have to brag about my brother Seth. He has been working on getting his mission papers put in, and is very excited to serve a mission.
Not only is he handsome but he is a good kid. I mean it, he has a good heart, he loves the Lord and he is very fun to talk to and be with. It always makes me sad that he was so young when I left home to go to BYU. I love you little brother!

So that's the end of my rambling this morning, but I guess that's what a Blog is for. I can write whatever I want and if you get bored you don't have to read it. Lucky us.

What a great family we have!

Easter and Yoda

This is to explain why I posted the picture below of Asher's finger in Ridge's mouth.
For anyone who hasn't seen the Youtube of "Charlie bit me again" here it is:

My kids think it's hilarious and now Asher has taken to putting his finger in Ridge's mouth any chance he gets saying "Ridge bit me." In an english accent no less!
These are some Easter shots of the boys. In our family the Easter bunny comes on Saturday so that on Sunday we can focus on the true meaning of Easter.

Jay's 5th birthday. Matt stayed up late working on the request of a Yoda cake. Asher got his fingers in the frosting before we got a picture but I think it adds to the effect. We love our three boys!

Posting pictures is a pain

Ok, so I decided it was time to try again with my posting. Then I realized I had 4 kind comments! How fun is that and also slightly horrifying that you all know about my secret stash! :)
When I started this post I accidentally posted the same picture 3 times before getting the one I wanted WITH Asher in the shot...but, Matt came to my rescue and deleted them for me. Sheesh.

May I draw your attention to the R2D2 cake? Matt is secretly a very talented artist, which of course makes sense since he has a love of fly fishing and ties his own flies, what's NOT artistic about that?!
Anyhow Ash really wanted an R2D2 cake for his birthday and so Matt fulfilled that wish.
Next I will attempt to post pictures of Easter and Jay's Yoda cake. Who knows what might get posted on accident especially since I can't seem to delete anything.

G & G Jeppson come to K.C.

My cute in-laws came to visit us in February and brought along Matt's old football pads. Jay and Asher ran around yelling "hike" and jargon like that. Grandpa always brings books for the boys when he comes and so the entire visit the boys subject him to reading them again and again...and again. As always we love it when they come to visit. Good times.

How to Blog?

For now this is my secret blog. Kind of like a hidden bag of M&M's that you don't want anyone to know you have stashed in the cupboard. Just a practice run to try and figure out the world of online journaling.
