Chocolate bag time

We had a really fun date for our 11th anniversary last night. (Wow! 11 years, have come and gone so fast, I'm betting the next 11 go by even faster!)

Matt brought home 2 gorgeous bunches of tulips. They are "our flower" since we got married in the Spring and have them in our wedding pictures. Then,we went out and had a nice leisurely seafood dinner.

We shared Alaskan king crab legs (so yummy, like manna!) and fish & chips, but Matt let me have all the "best parts" of the crab legs.

We ended up getting each other the EXACT same cards! (Just further proof that we belong together.) Matt's inscription was so sweet I wanted to brag on what he wrote:

"Happy anniversary Jamey. I love you & am still very much in love with you, even more than when we got married. I know I wouldn't be happy without you in my life. Thank you for the sacrifices you make as a mother & wife on a daily basis, and thank you for always loving me & being an affectionate wife even when it's difficult (when I'm difficult.)
I love you.
-Matt"

My inscription wasn't nearly as nice or thoughtful.

We shared a chocolate bag for dessert & since it was our anniversary they brought us a complimentary mini one as well. Notice how the little one is in front of Matt. (We really did share though!) :)

White chocolate mousse, fresh berries, semi-sweet chocolate "bag" and berry glaze. We finished dinner & did a little shopping. Perfection.
I asked Matt over dinner if he enjoyed coming to our traditional place every year or if he just came because I loved it.
His answer: "both, I like coming here and I like it because it makes you happy."
...sigh.
I truly am living my "happily ever after."

Camping trip with dad

The older boys went on a camping trip with Matt this past weekend and found all kinds of creatures. One find in particular, Jay couldn't wait to tell me about...

"Mom, we found a pair of 3-toed Box Turtles mating!"

You did? Wow! What does mating mean?

Pause.

"Um, getting married or something?"

Working for peanuts.

Asher quote of the day:

"Mom, will you wipe me? Louder yelling WIPE ME!!!!!!!"

Me: Say please.

"Please, please, I will give you some cheese!"

Kindergarten Fitness Performance

Our family got to go to Jay's school to watch his grade level do a Fitness Performance. Jay's class did the "Pacer" demonstration which shows how the kids run to build endurance. Jay rocked it and was one of the last four still running at the end. At the bottom is a video of all the Kindergartner's singing part of a muscle song. My favorite part is when they say "gluteus maximus" and Jay turns around and giggles. Ridge also makes an appearance.

Jay with his darling teacher Mrs. Todd

I'm really scared mom.

This is a phrase we hear almost nightly. When we are at our wits end we tell Jay that when Asher is asleep he can get in bed with him. (Yup, big brother is the scared one.)
What do you do when little brother for some unknown reason falls asleep on the floor? Join him of course.

Problem solved.

Our Saturday tradition continues, Easter eggs & baskets!

We love to celebrate Easter all weekend long! Saturday is our day of fun with egg hunts and baskets galore. Here are a bazillion pictures of the boys from this morning. Later we also went to a church egg hunt/brunch complete with the Easter bunny. (I didn't post any pictures from that one, but it was a great activity.)

Ready to go hunt eggs! (The bright sun made it hard for the boys to open their eyes in these pictures.)

If you can click on this one to make it bigger you should, Asher is a really comical kid.

Team work

The boys are really into Webkinz stuffed animals. The Easter bunny brought each of the older boys a new one to add to their collection of "guys." Here is Asher showing off his spotted turtle Webkinz he named "Turtley."

Jay named his gecko Webkinz "Crawly."

We hope you all have a "sweet" Easter. We are looking forward to celebrating the real reason for Easter tomorrow.

Call me lazy

I've got lots of posting to catch up on but I haven't been able to sit down and get it done.
I did want to post and tell my family that I just signed up for this:

"Only" it's the 1/2 marathon part (13.1 miles). Right now the plan is to run/walk it with some girlfriends.
It's not til October, but I am freaking out a little bit.
Call me crazy.
