Law School friends

Our dear friends the Odgen's drove from Bellevue, NE to visit us and see some church sites before they pack up to move to Washington D.C. on their latest JAG adventure for Aaron to earn his LLM.
We met Aaron and Holly about 10 years ago when we moved to Coralville, IA for Matt to go to Law school. We have many fond and fun memories (dress up 70's birthday party) with them and our Iowa buddies so it is always fun to see them and pick up right where we left off.
Aaron has a witty sense of humor & is a friend after Matt's own heart since he also loves fishing and critters. Holly is loyal, a wonderful cook, fun to be around and a great example. Their kiddos are super great as well.

Give said the little stream

Random picture of Asher on one of our nature hikes.

We have a stream in our back yard. When it rains it fills up and usually spills over to the opposite side of the stream onto the green space. This month we watched as our little stream turned into a raging torrent on 3 separate occasions. We haven't really needed to run our sprinklers yet.

This is our next door neighbor's yard. The trees aren't usually included in the "stream".

(Notice how full our rain gauge is.)

Wendy comes to visit

Grandma Wendy drove back from Utah with Matt to stay with us for a week so while she was here we had a lot of fun and also got a lot done. We painted our family room and kitchen, and re-arranged furniture.
We celebrated Ridge's 3rd birthday.

We played catch and found turtles.

Nature "hike"

Boys sitting on the chinook that landed during the Corps of Engineers yearly picnic. We could not get Ridge out of the chopper. He loved it.

Waiting in line for lunch. Ribs, brisket and hot dogs.

Watching the chinook land

We love when family comes to visit and are always sorry to see them leave.

Snapping Turtle

Matt and Mom Jeppson just drove all night from SLC and look what they found with the boys in the stream out back. (Snapping turtle) Wendy says it was really stinky too.
