February/January happenings

Valentine's Day. We celebrated Sunday with a very nice dinner the boys and went out on our date on Monday to McCormick & Schmick's for king crab legs and a chocolate bag. I had this shirt made as a surprise for Matt. Please note my beautiful white roses in the background. *Jay took this picture.

Each of the boys got a "warmy" along with treats and a card from mom and dad. A warmy is a muslin bag that is filled with deer feed corn. Then we (some friends & I) also made a SOFT pillowcase that slips over it. To warm it up you place the muslin bag in the microwave for 2 1/2 minutes and then put it back in the soft covering. It can go at the foot of the bed to warm feet or my boys like to snuggle with them while watching t.v.

FUNNY exchange during our family dinner:
Jay: Did dad get a warmy?
Me: No daddy didn't want a warmy.
Asher: Why not?
Me: Dad's feet don't get cold at night, like mom's do.
Matt: Daddy stays hot.
Asher: How?
Jay: Oh I know! Daddy gets hot thinking about mommy!
(Laughter from mommy & daddy)
Matt: That's right Jay.

Ridge enjoys the benefits of going to Asher's school party.

Asher had his preschool Valentine party. My friend Jessica & I were in charge. The kids decorated bags, exchanged Valentine cards, played games and decorated cupcakes.

Asher & his friend Reagan

Jay gave his "Famous American" speech on Jay Nixon the governor of Missouri. He says he picked him b/c he has the same name as him. Jay did a great job on his speech along with excellent eye contact while he was speaking. :)

Matt helped the boys build a really cool snow fort. We have been having one of THE coldest never ending winters and more snow is falling.
We can't wait for spring!

We got out the toddler bed for Ridge. He has slept in it a few times but recently likes to get out and exert his roaming capabilities. I heard him rustling around the other night and he had taken off his PJ's and put on new clothes and plugged in every night lite he could find, so he had to go back to the crib so he'd actually sleep.

Just a funny picture of Ridge "reading."

The boys built a snowman and named him "Frost."
Matt & I also went to the Winter Quarters temple with our friends the Cox's & Simpson's. It was a wonderful and fun trip. The only bad thing that happened was we left our pillows at the hotel. I called to ask that they mail them back to us b/c they are nice ones that we love (obviously if we travel with our pillows.) I innocently gave them our credit card number and they did mail them back, but we are now fighting FedEx charges of $90 for shipping them back to us. Plus $16 dollars for a movie that we didn't watch when we stayed there. Good thing we used Pricline to get such a good deal on our room! Ugh.
